Each year, Utah State University’s English Department produces an anthology to be used as a textbook for all Intermediate Writing courses. I was asked to design the cover for both the 2014 and 2015 editions of Voices of USU: an Anthology of Student Essays.
As I designed the covers featured here, I created graphics that visually represent the concept of different “voices.” On the cover of the 2014 edition, the word, “Voices” is made up of prominent words and titles from essays included in that book.
The 2015 edition displays sound waves in order to represent the combination of voices written as well spoken. I did this because 2015 was the inaugural year of the Citizen Scholar Conference – where student authors, whose work was published in the anthology were also invited to present their work at a university-wide conference.
